California State University, Fullerton celebrates its diverse student population through a series of cultural recognition events in May leading up to Commencement 2018.
The cultural ceremonies and celebrations are open to all graduating students. Reservations are requested; please check online for details. All programs will be held in Portola Pavilion of the Titan Student Union.
May 5
1-3 p.m. — Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Recognition Celebration
7-9 p.m. — Lavender Celebration (for LGBTQ students and allies)
May 6
1-3 p.m. — Pan-Afrikan Recognition Ceremony
May 11
6-8 p.m. — Pilipino American Recognition Celebration
May 12
5:30-9:30 p.m. — Chicanx/Latinx and Native American Graduation Celebration
May 13
Noon-3 p.m. — Dreamers Recognition Ceremony

Cal State Fullerton’s annual commencement celebration kicks off with a single all-university program at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, featuring keynote speaker Earl Lewis, former president of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, now professor of history and African American and African studies at the University of Michigan. The full schedule of the three-day festivities can be found online.
