College of the Arts alumni will bring the classics of such legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Aretha Franklin to the Clayes Performing Arts Center Saturday, March 23, in a concert benefiting Cal State Fullerton’s performing arts students.
Singer Brooke Aston ‘02 (B.F.A. theatre arts-musical theatre), who has performed around the world and teaches voice, will headline the 7 p.m. concert in Meng Concert Hall, teaming up with the Titan Divas: actress Emily Mitchell ’00 (B.A. theatre arts); Marlene Martinez ’07 (B.F.A. theatre arts – musical theater), who was in the national tour of “Mamma Mia!”; and singer and educator Megan Sullivan ’02 (B.F.A. theatre arts – musical theater).
All alumni have, at one time or another, participated in Concert Under the Stars, Cal State Fullerton’s signature fundraising event, which benefits CSUF scholarships and student-centered programs.
A reception in the McCarty Grand Foyer will take place after the 7p.m. production of “Brooke Aston and the Titan Divas,” which is sponsored by the MAMM Alliance for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $40, with a special $15 rate for students. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
