Global Mental Health, ‘Toxic Masculinity’ Among Topics for Social Justice Week

Building awareness about current social justice issues is the focus of Cal State Fullerton’s Social Justice Week March 18-21. An expansion of the university’s former Social Justice Summit, the weeklong slate of activities is centered on the theme, “We the People: Recognize, Support, Act.”

Among the workshops and discussions — coordinated by Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers, Associated Students Inc. and the Association for Inter-Cultural Awareness — are:

Monday, March 18

  • “Problematic or Not? LGBTQ Representation in the Media,” sponsored by the LGBT Queer Resource Center, noon-1 p.m., Titan Student Union Legislative Chambers
  • “Welcome Home: LGBTQ Students in the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Community,” sponsored by the Nikkei Student Union, 5-6 p.m. Pollak Library, Room 180

Tuesday, March 19

  • “I Am a(n)…Ambitious Titan,” sponsored by the Male Success Initiative, noon to 1 p.m., TSU Legislative Chambers
  • Film screening of “Bao” and discussion on “Expressions of Love and Care,” sponsored by Association of Chinese Students and Vietnamese Student Association, 5-6 p.m., Pollak Library, Room 180

Wednesday, March 20

  • “Families Belong Together” panel discussion, sponsored by the Titan Dreamers Resource Center, noon to 1 p.m., TSU Legislative Chambers
