Katherine Powers, professor and director of the School of Music, joined Cal State Fullerton in fall 1998. She has taught music history and literature, and directed the university’s Collegium Musicum, a student music ensemble specializing in the study and performance of instrumental and vocal music composed in the Middle Age, Renaissance and Baroque periods. As a clarinetist, Powers has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and recorded chamber music for the BBC, Swedish Radio and SMS Classical.
