Meet Fernando Rodríguez-Valls, professor of secondary education, who creates partnerships with school districts and local educational agencies to develop and implement community-based bilingual and multilingual literacy programs. He joined Cal State Fullerton in 2014 and is coordinator of the College of Education’s bilingual authorization and world languages programs. His research focuses on equitable and linguistically inclusive methodologies for emergent bilingual, newcomer, and immigrant and migrant students, as well as socio-cultural factors affecting their academic achievement, educational continuity and school engagement.
