Students who stopped by Cal State Fullerton’s Becker Amphitheater on Jan. 22 helped assemble almost 500 care packages and “Welcome Home” baskets for Mercy House in Santa Ana, which provides services to the homeless community.
The day of service event was coordinated by CSUF’s Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
“It went very well,” said Torrell Foree, coordinator of the African American Resource Center. “We thought we were ambitious trying to fill 500 bags, but we didn’t realize that students would be so interested that they would fill one, two, three bags.” Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
