In his new book, “DJs Mean Business: One Night Behind the Turntables Can Spin Your Company’s Success,” Amani Roberts relates being a disk jockey with starting a business.
Using the time slots of a DJ set — 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. — the lecturer in management and co-director of the Center for Entertainment and Hospitality Management at Cal State Fullerton describes the different stages of starting and growing a business.
Roberts has plenty of expertise to share, as he has been spinning records since the 1990s. After several years in the hotel industry, he founded The Amani Experience, a Redondo Beach-based entertainment company where he and his team produce music and provide DJ services.
