When Mesbah Hadi told her academic counselors at Cypress College that she was ready to take her next steps toward a career in medicine, they recommended Cal State Fullerton because of its reputation for hands-on learning and research opportunities.
Their advice is what inspired Hadi to attend the university’s Fall in Love With Cal State Fullerton open house and accept her admission to the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Hadi was one of many prospective students who attended the signature event on Oct. 24, which had more than 3,000 registrations. Coordinated by the Department of Outreach, Recruitment and Orientation, the event gives prospective students and their families the opportunity to tour the campus, learn about academic programs, and connect with the people and resources that will support Titans on their way to earning a college degree.
As an aspiring doctor, Hadi said that Fall in Love With Cal State Fullerton was the perfect opportunity to network with faculty members, explore future research possibilities and learn about student support services.
“This event is a way for me to connect with professors and other people who can help me succeed on my journey to medical school and be more involved in the community,” Hadi said.
For transfer students like Hadi, the event featured a “Next Steps” presentation to help students navigate the transfer pathway. Guests also learned about support services like the Transfer, Adult Re entry, Parenting, and Pregnant Student Center. Cal State Fullerton is ranked No. 3 in the nation for colleges with the most transfer students, according to the 2026 U.S. News & World Report.
Briana Gonzalez, who also accepted her admission to CSUF, said that the open house was a chance to introduce her dad to the campus and tour the College of the Arts.
“I’m really excited to explore the arts department and graphic design programs because I’ve only heard good things about them from my previous teachers,” said Gonzalez, who will transfer from Riverside City College.
In addition to highlighting the university’s academic programs, the event’s resource fair showcased CSUF’s extracurricular scene, which features more than 300 student clubs and organizations.
Throughout the day, guests also learned about professional development and wellness resources that help students thrive both inside and outside of the classroom, including the Associated Students Inc. Zen Den, the Career Center, the Center for Internships and Community Engagement, and more.
“Whether helping prospective students take the first step toward applying or supporting admitted spring 2027 transfer students as they prepare to join the Titan community, this event helps students envision their future at CSUF while giving families a better understanding of the opportunities and support available to help their students succeed,” said Christin Johnson, associate director for the Department of Outreach, Recruitment and Orientation.
“Ultimately, we want everyone to leave feeling welcomed, connected to our campus community and excited about the possibilities ahead.”
