Cal State Fullerton’s College of Education presents Education Week Nov. 17-19 focusing on “Celebrating Access, Equity and Excellence.” The program, free and open to the public, features keynote speakers, documentary screenings, a workshop on careers in teaching and social mixer for future educators.

Tuesday, Nov. 17
Noon-2 p.m. — “Opportunities Available for Aspiring Teachers Workshop,” Titan Dreamers Resource Center in Room 203 of Pollak Library. The workshop for diverse students will offer information on pathways to teaching careers.
4-5:30 p.m. — “Pathways to Success: Future Educator and Research Mixer” highlighting CSUF resources on program information, career paths and opportunities to engage in research.
5:30-7 p.m. — “The Digital Identity of an Educator in 2015,” with opening keynote speaker Josie Ahlquist, who holds a doctorate from California Lutheran University and trains student leaders and student affairs professionals. She will discuss how educators can use social media to build community, student learning and for their own professional development. The event also will feature a live Twitter wall.
Wednesday, Nov. 18
Noon-1 p.m. — C-REAL Colloquium with Dan Habib, a filmmaker at the University of New Hampshire’s Institute on Disability and creator of documentaries and short films on disability-related topics. He will share clips from his films, “Who Cares About Kelsey” and “Marcel.”
4-6:30 p.m. — Screening of Habib’s documentary, “Including Samuel,” followed by a Q&A session. The film chronicles the Habib family’s efforts to include son Samuel, who has cerebral palsy, in every facet of their lives, as well as the experiences of other individuals with disabilities and their families.
Thursday, Nov. 19
4-7 p.m. — Habib will deliver the closing keynote on “Disabling Segregation” and the benefits of creating a culture of inclusion. The screening of his short film “Thasya” and “Who Cares About Kelsey” also will be presented.
Parking:
$2 per hour or $8 for a daily permit; details are available online.
