Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, California State University Fullerton (CSUF) saw many successes and new records for degrees awarded to students for the 2021-2022 academic year. CSUF had the highest number of total degrees (including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral) awarded in its history for the academic year 2021-2022 (11,114). Additionally, some of the biggest accomplishments centered around female students. CSUF had the highest number of Bachelor’s (5,780) and Doctoral (51) degrees awarded to female students for the academic year 2021-2022. Below are more highlights for CSUF in 2021-2022.
POINTS OF CELEBRATION
Bachelor’s Degrees: This year CSUF awarded a total of 9,467 Bachelor’s degrees, breaking several records:
• Record number of Bachelor’s awarded to underrepresented students – 4,410
• Record number of Bachelor’s awarded to Hispanic students – 4,215
• Record number of Bachelor’s awarded to students who are both underrepresented and first-generation (first in the family to earn a college degree) – 3,151
• Record number of Bachelor’s awarded to underrepresented female students – 2,892
• Record number of Bachelor’s awarded to first-generation female students – 3,416
Master’s Degrees: This year CSUF awarded a total of 1,567 Master’s degrees. This number includes records for underrepresented students.
• Record number of Master’s degrees awarded to underrepresented students – 545
• Record number of Master’s degrees awarded to Hispanic students – 501
• Record number of Master’s degrees awarded to students who are both female and Hispanic – 339
Doctoral Degrees: A total of 80 Doctoral degrees were awarded in 2021-2022, a new record for CSUF. Within this accomplishment were more records for CSUF’s underrepresented student population.
• Record number of doctoral degrees awarded to underrepresented students – 29
• Record number of doctoral degrees awarded to Black/African American students – 9
• Record number of doctoral degrees Hispanic students – 20
