Cal State Fullerton once again claimed the top spot in Forbes #MyTopCollege social media campaign, which featured thousands of tweets and Instagram postings highlighting school spirit and passion from students and alumni of more than 250 universities nationwide.
Forbes launched this year’s competition in June and announced the winners today (July 28) to coincide with the July 29 release of the magazine’s annual rankings of America’s Top Colleges.
CSUF was named the top campus in the large school division after being named the overall winner in last year’s inaugural campaign. Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania took the medium category, and Sweet Briar College in Virginia was the top small school winner.
The successful Titan effort benefited from a vigorous series of postings on the University social media sites, as well as enthusiastic participation of the University’s college-and-department-based social media coordinators. During the campaign, the University curated hundreds of the postings into a Storify blog to help share the messages of Titan Pride.
Posts ranged from campus beauty shots to heartfelt thanks from alums and students about the quality of education they received at Cal State Fullerton.
“Last year’s champion, California State University, Fullerton, returned as a strong front runner and remained the most active large school in our campaign,” according to a release by Forbes.
