Campus and community members are invited to celebrate the release of a new poetry anthology, compiled by three Cal State Fullerton faculty members, Dec. 8 in the Salz-Pollak Atrium Gallery of the Pollak Library. The free, public event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m.

“Open Doors: An Invitation to Poetry” honors emerging and accomplished poets who have read their work during the University’s annual celebration of National Poetry Month, a tradition that began in 2002.

The anthology is edited by Irena Praitis, professor of English, comparative literature and linguistics; Jie Tian, librarian; and Natalie Graham, assistant professor of African American studies.

The 26 contemporary American poets featured in the anthology have garnered accolades such as a MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellowship, the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Walt Whitman Award, a Best American Poetry selection, Poet Laureate of the United States, Poet Laureate of Arizona and more.

RSVP by Dec. 1 to ipraitis@fullerton.edu, jtian@fullerton.edu or ngraham@fullerton.edu. For more information, visit the Pollak Library website.
