Eddy Francisco Alvarez Jr., associate professor in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies, curated an exhibition, “Finding Sequins in the Rubble: Archives of Joteria Memories in Los Angeles,” at the Museum of Social Justice in downtown Los Angeles. Based on his research on queer Latinx communities in Los Angeles, the exhibition opened on August 24, 2023 and will close on January 28, 2024. Students in two of his classes at CSUF collaborated on this project. This is Alvarez’s first time curating a public history project for a museum.
