For students interested in creating their own businesses, this year’s Business Plan Competition just may be one of the most important “pitches” they will ever make. Campus and community members are invited to come see the finalists as they face off in the Thursday, April 7, finals.
“The competition provides students the essentials for startup success: expert advice from real investors, exposure to potential customers and a chance to secure some serious money along with in-kind services,” said John B. Jackson, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and competition organizer. “Plus, it’s a blast.”
The program kicks off at noon with an Innovation Fair showcasing student developed projects, as well as information from residents of the University’s Startup Incubator and partner organizations. At 1 p.m. competition begins with each finalist having 15 minutes to pitch their concept and another 15 to answer questions from the panel of judges.
