College of Education to Salute Local Educators April 17

Cal State Fullerton’s College of Education is hosting “Honor an Educator Luncheon and Ceremony” April 17 to recognize local K-12 teachers and other educators who have made a difference in education and student learning. The public event supports scholarships for CSUF students pursuing teaching careers.

Top Honorees:

Anaheim Union High School District Superintendent Michael B. Matsuda will be honored with the Visionary Leadership Award. Anaheim Union High School District will be recognized with the Education Excellence Award.

Cost:

$45 for individual tickets; sponsorship and honoree opportunities of $100-$3,000 are available. Visit online to purchase tickets and sponsorships by Monday, March 14. Tickets are not available at the door.

Additional:

The College of Education and Anaheim Union High School District are longtime partners in support of teacher preparation programs and the training of future teachers. The school district serves about 31,000 junior high and high school students from Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, La Palma and Stanton and employs about 1,300 teachers.

Externally funded projects conducted in partnership with the school district include: Titan PRIDE, the Mathematics Teacher and Master Teacher Fellows Project, Transforming Academic and Cultural Identidad Through Biliteracy, GEAR UP, and Strategies: Science, Technology and Engineering Mini-Business Incubator. Matsuda also helped to create CSUF’s K12 Sustainability Showcase.
