Zev Yaroslavsky, former Los Angeles County supervisor and Los Angeles councilmember, will discuss “Campaign Finance Reform” Feb. 20 as the keynoter for Cal State Fullerton’s Patrons of the Library meeting.
First elected to office in 1975, Yaroslavsky has spent more than 40 years in public service. He began on the Los Angeles City Council, where he served as chair of the Finance Committee and co-authored initiatives that controlled commercial developments near residential neighborhoods and banned oil drilling along LA’s shoreline. In 1994, he was elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and served five terms. He is founder and chairman of the Yaroslavsky Institute, a Los Angeles-based research organization.
The meeting, which is open to the public, starts at 2 p.m. in the University’s Pollak Library, Rotary Club of Fullerton Room 130.
