Ken Blanchard, author of the bestseller “The One Minute Manager,” is the featured speaker for the Tuesday, March 13, Hall of Fame induction ceremony hosted by Cal State Fullerton’s Center for Family Business.
Blanchard has sold more than 13 million copies of “The One Minute Manager” and penned 59 other books. He is co-founder and chief spiritual officer of The Ken Blanchard Companies, an international management training and consulting firm that he and his wife, Marjorie, launched in San Diego 40 years ago.
The event also honors four Southern California-based and family-owned companies. One honoree is recognized in each of four categories: excellence in the community, strength in succession, maintaining and honoring the founder’s vision, and commitment to education. Nominations are accepted through Jan. 19 and more information is available here.
“Dr. Blanchard’s message of steward leadership should resonate with our family business leaders,” said Ed Hart, director of the Center for Family Business. “So much of what our Hall of Fame inductees, past and upcoming, have in common is the value and commitment to great leadership, and truly understanding their stewardship over the businesses, families and employees. Dr. Blanchard will inspire and motivate our guests, and we are honored to have him be our keynote speaker.”
Past guest speakers have included Lynsi Snyder, president of In-N-Out Burger; Anthony Simmons, president and CEO of the McIlhenny Co. (makers of Tabasco); and Jeanie Buss, president of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tickets are available online for the fourth annual event at the Richard M. Nixon Library, 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd., in Yorba Linda. The ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m.
