As part of Cal State Fullerton’s Homecoming Week, Associated Students Inc., the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the John D. Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center are celebrating on Wednesday, Nov. 29, the newest Titan to join the CSUF family — a woolly mammoth fossil.
The unveiling event, open to the public, will be held from 3-5 p.m., with the program beginning at 3:15 p.m., in the Titan Student Union’s Chapman Atrium.
Orange County resident John Gregg and his Gregg Family Foundation donated the extinct giant mammoth skeleton to the University. The rare Siberian woolly mammoth fossil is now on permanent display in the Titan Student Union.
Speakers include:
- Berenecea Johnson Eanes, vice president for student affairs
- Marie Johnson, dean, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
- James F. Parham, associate professor of geological sciences and Cooper Center faculty curator of paleontology
- Jared Hill, chair, Titan Student Centers Board of Trustees
