The lunchtime Community Police Academy is a four-week course that provides CSUF students, staff and faculty the opportunity to learn from subject matter experts and gain valuable insight into the field of law enforcement.
The academy will help expand participants’ knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a law enforcement officer and address any common misconceptions regarding split-second decisions made during critical situations and standard processes in day-to-day police operations. Through the Community Police Academy, the CSUF Police Department strives to increase public safety, build trust, engage in perspective-taking and develop a partnership between the diverse CSUF community.
Each week, class will be open approximately 10 minutes prior to the start time. Lunch will be provided. Weekly attendance is required. Spots are limited. If a participant is unable to attend all four weeks, they can follow the CSUF Police Department on social media or check the CSUF Police Department website for the next academy.
Community Police Academy participants must be at least 18 years old. The program is open to current CSUF students, staff and faculty only. Fill out the online form to learn more and register.
