In conjunction with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Cal State Fullerton campus groups are uniting to spread awareness of the issues, particularly among college students.
Beginning Nov. 8 through Nov. 19, the Titan Pride Center and Associated Students Inc. will be collecting full-size hygiene items and nonperishable, non-canned food items at the Titan Pride Center desk in the Titan Student Union.

ASI’s “Just the Basics”
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., walkway between Pollak Library and Titan Student Union
ASI addresses food and housing insecurity with the launch of its new Mobile Food Pantry, a Farmers’ Market and a housing resource fair. The Mobile Food Pantry will be distributing tote bags with nonperishable, non-canned food items from Fullerton Grocery Outlet.
Basic Needs Panel Presentation

A conversation on hunger and homelessness will feature panelists Kelsey Brewer ’16 (B.A. political science) from Jamboree Housing Corp., Brana Vlasic from Second Harvest Food Bank and CSUF Associate Dean of Students Carmen Curiel. Dean of Students Hallie Hunt will serve as moderator.
“Financial Practices to Avoid a Crisis” Workshop

In this workshop, students will explore financial practices they can easily implement into their daily lives to help avoid financial crises.

Learn about the California State University’s Basic Needs Initiative and how Tuffy’s Basic Needs Services Center supports students facing housing and food insecurity.

“Storied Streets” Documentary Screening

A documentary explores homelessness across America by telling the stories of those who live it every day.
