Data of the Month: Advising Impact for 2024-25

Cal State Fullerton’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning shares how advising progress is driving stronger student academic engagement, retention and timely graduation. Check out these key highlights from the 2024-25 academic year.

Advising Session Engagement

  • 48,450 undergraduate advising sessions attended.
  • 94% more advising sessions were held, compared to the previous year.
  • 6,942 first-year students received academic advising from the first-year mandatory advising program.

Engagement Beyond Advising Sessions

  • 14,324 undergraduate students attended academic advising workshops.
  • 4,575 more undergraduate students graduated on time, instead of deferring to the next semester.

Re-enrollment Engagement

After targeted outreach for non-enrolled returning students:
  • 56% of previously non-enrolled students re-enrolled in spring 2025.
  • 50% of previously non-enrolled students re-enrolled in fall 2025.
