A CSUF program established by educators Melanie Horn-Mallers and Kate Bono has received a $122,819 grant from the North Orange County Public Safety Task Force to expand the program to more families through partnerships with local school districts.
The Resilient Families Program was established as a two-year study in 2015 to help families increase skills in parent-child bonding, stress management and children’s ability to regulate thoughts, attention and emotions. It was offered at the Center for Healthy Neighborhoods located in the Richman Neighborhood Center.
