Social Justice, Diversity Education Scholar to Lead Student Retention

With accomplishments as a trainer and facilitator on issues of social justice and diversity education, Clint-Michael Reneau joins Cal State Fullerton this summer as an associate vice president for student affairs to lead retention efforts.

Reneau, who starts his new post July 17, brings a combined 13 years of experience in higher education. His role includes administering policies affecting the academic and developmental needs of CSUF students, announced Berenecea Johnson Eanes, vice president for student affairs.

He will oversee the retention areas of Athletic Academic Services, the Career Center, Center for Internships and Community Engagement, Counseling and Psychological Services, Disability Support Services, Scholars and Scholarships, Student Academic Services, the Student Health and Counseling Center and Veteran Student Services.

Reneau currently serves as director of disability services and the Title IX investigator and student conduct specialist at Texas State University in San Marcos. His responsibilities entail leading, developing, training and supervising support staff, including student affairs professionals and disability specialists. He also has served in leadership roles at Tulane University in New Orleans and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. 

Reneau earned his doctorate in adult, professional and community education, a master’s degree in education-guidance and counseling, with an emphasis in student affairs, and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, with a minor in mass media communication, all from Texas State University.
