Cal State Fullerton’s Latinx Community Resource Center recently offered an interactive workshop presented by Wells Fargo to help students learn financial literacy and tips for managing their money before entering the workforce.

About 25 students participated in the April 10 session, which reviewed how to manage student loans, navigate interest rates, and build a strong financial future. The workshop included a hands-on banking experience centered around a budgeting game that helped students work through real-life budgeting scenarios with Wells Fargo bankers to learn important financial skills.

Ricardo Pitones, assistant director of Cal State Fullerton’s Latinx Community Resource Center, or LCRC, and Hispanic Serving Institutions Student Initiatives, said building real-life budgeting skills is crucial for all graduates.

“This workshop helped students learn how to navigate their finances and strategize for post-graduation expenses,” Pitones said. ”Understanding budgeting, student loans and interest rates will help new graduates build a strong financial future.”

All LCRC events and programs are open and available to all who are interested in participating regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin or other protected statuses.
