Cal State Fullerton’s Transfer, Adult Re-entry, Parenting and Pregnant Student Center is celebrating thousands of CSUF transfer students during National Transfer Student Week through its annual Transfer Fest.

Taking place Oct. 20-24, the event is one of the university’s largest transfer student-focused events of the year. Now in its third year, Transfer Fest showcases CSUF’s ongoing commitment to transfer student success. The event features music, food, games, student performers and a resource fair connecting students directly with key campus partners like Counseling and Psychological Services, the Career Center, Basic Needs and ASI.

TAPP Center Director Laura Hooks said Transfer Fest highlights CSUF’s dedication to helping transfer students feel supported on campus.

“They belong here, and they have a seat at the table,” Hooks said. “We want them to feel special because they are doing hard things, and we want to acknowledge that. We want them to feel like they do have a space here, and they do have a community here on campus.”

According to Andrea De Alba, TAPP Center’s programs and services coordinator, Transfer Fest can help transfer students find community on campus and learn more about campus resources.

“They can partake in and then really get to know those areas, those campus partners and the things they offer on a deeper level,” De Alba said.

Event organizers said CSUF continues to innovate on what it means to be a transfer-friendly institution through inclusive campus community events like Transfer Fest.

“Transfer Fest is really a celebration that is meant to celebrate transfer students’ presence, their contributions, their achievements on campus, amongst the campus community,” De Alba said.

This year’s event was co-organized by a planning committee that included CSUF’s Associated Students, Inc., Student Life and Leadership, Disability Support Services and Financial Aid.
