Cal State Fullerton celebrates Native American Heritage Month in November. The university is on lands originally cared for by the Tongva and Acjachemen Peoples. The CSUF community acknowledges that this land holds great historical, spiritual and personal significance for its original inhabitants, and honor their enduring connection to it.
November was chosen to celebrate Native American Heritage Month because it is a time when many Native American tribes historically gather for cultural, spiritual and social events.
Recognizing Native American Heritage Month is a meaningful step in fostering an inclusive campus that values diversity, equity and inclusion. This year, CSUF looks forward to the grand opening of the Native American and Indigenous Resource Center in the Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers on Nov. 5 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Pollak Library, Room 170. The new center will be student-centered and strive to build community and success among Native and Indigenous students at CSUF.
Throughout the month, CSUF encourages all Titans to engage in activities that promote greater understanding of Native American history, culture and contemporary issues. Visit the Native American Heritage Month website for more information.
