Dominic Mumolo, senior director of development in the College of the Arts, has worked in fundraising, education and the arts for more than 32 years. He is an outstanding example of what it means to be a community builder.

Mumolo has raised millions of dollars in support of organizations’ missions, especially in the area of arts education. He has overseen the development of a new arts charter school, visual arts complex and concert hall. Mumolo and a colleague continue to work on funding the new visual arts complex at Cal State Fullerton. For his dedication and exceptional work in the field, Mumulo has received the 2025 Outstanding Fundraising Professional – Lifetime Award.

He was nominated by the selection committee within the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Orange County chapter. The award is granted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals organization.

Mumolo started attending Association of Fundraising Professionals, Orange County meetings in 2000 and joined as a member in 2011. He immediately became involved on the Mentorship Committee, and has served as a mentor for 20 cohorts of mentees. He encourages his mentees to join the committee and continue the cycle of giving back. Mumolo has also served as the president of the AFP OC chapter, and he is currently involved as a mentor.

“I have always been amazed by what philanthropy can do and how necessary it is. Philanthropy and volunteerism are an important part of almost every aspect of our lives. They have the power to inspire, to move, and to transform communities. We are incredibly grateful to the philanthropic and volunteer support of the communities that we serve,” said Mumolo, who earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA.

Mumolo has been happily married for 27 years and has lived in Orange County for most of his life. He and his wife wanted to raise their kids in the same community. He has a love for the arts, reading, fantasy and science fiction, all things Italian or Irish, and his family.
