In an ongoing effort to enhance community safety and prevent vehicle theft, the CSUF Police Department has partnered with the Fullerton Police Department and Hyundai to distribute free Hyundai anti-theft steering wheel locks to eligible community members.
The giveaway will occur on April 26 from noon to 2 p.m. or while supplies last in CSUF Lot R, located off of State College Boulevard. Affiliation with Cal State Fullerton is not a requirement to obtain a lock.
This initiative aims to assist owners of Hyundai vehicles, model years 2011-22, with a key ignition, who may be vulnerable to vehicle theft due to known security concerns. Hyundai has provided these steering wheel locks as an additional layer of protection for affected vehicle owners.
Vehicle owners must bring proof of Hyundai ownership, such as the vehicle, vehicle registration or a valid insurance card. This is a drive-thru event. Community members will not be asked to exit their vehicle to obtain a lock or provide identifying information such as name, email address, phone number or home address.
