Underrepresented* (UR) faculty and staff at CSUF have increased over the past five years (from fall 2019 to fall 2023).

Quick UR facts

UR instructional faculty

  • Overall UR instructional faculty increased from 14.4% to 18.9%
  • Black/African American instructional faculty increased from 3.0% to 3.7%
  • Hispanic/Latino instructional faculty increased from 10.9% to 14.9%
  • Female instructional faculty increased from 51.4% to 53.4%

UR staff

  • Overall UR staff increased from 37.7% to 44%
  • Hispanic/Latino staff increased from 29.7% to 37.4%
  • 1,875 is the amount of overall UR staff —the highest amount in 10 years

*Underrepresented faculty or staff is defined as any faculty or staff member who has identified their race/ethnicity as African American, American Indian or Native American, Hispanic, and Pacific Islander.
