Cal State Fullerton’s Ed.D. program recently hosted “Building Connections, Navigating Futures,” an alumni mixer that brought together alumni, current students and prospective Ed.D. students for meaningful networking, conversation and community-building.
The event highlighted the importance of staying connected throughout the Ed.D. journey and beyond. Participants had the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and reflect on how the knowledge, skills and relationships developed through doctoral study can be transferred into educational systems to support meaningful change.
Alumni Sardis Rodriguez and Edgar Hernandez led a thoughtful panel discussion, offering insights into their doctoral experiences, professional pathways and leadership work in the field. They also helped coordinate the event in partnership with the Ed.D. Student Advisory Board, whose leadership helped create a welcoming space for connection across cohorts.
“Building Connections, Navigating Futures” reflected the strength of the Ed.D. community: a network of scholar-practitioners committed to learning from one another, supporting future leaders and advancing equity-centered leadership across education.
