English Professor Receives Huntington Library Fellowship

Share This:

Nicole Seymour, professor of English, comparative literature and linguistics, has been awarded a residential fellowship at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. This summer, she will conduct archival research on author Christopher Isherwood, whose 1964 novel “A Single Man” fictionalizes his experience as a Cal State LA professor. Seymour plans to complete a scholarly article that highlights Isherwood’s work as a rare entry in the genre of the campus novel, which tends to focus on research universities and small liberal arts colleges rather than comprehensive teaching universities like the CSUs.
