The School of Nursing and the midwifery community mourn the untimely passing of Betty Johnson Snell, Professor Emeritus in the School of Nursing. Snell joined the CSUF community in 2002 and subsequently developed the Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Graduate Program in 2006. Along with teaching in these Graduate Programs, Snell created and was the owner and clinical director of Beach Cities Midwifery and Women’s Health Care and the Beach Side Birth Centers in Laguna Hills, Long Beach, and Corona. Snell was a midwife, an educator, a mentor, an advocate, a wife, and a mother loved by all. Her impact on women’s health education and the midwifery profession is indelible and her legacy lives on through all the lives she has touched. She is greatly missed.
