Results from the National Survey for Student Engagement reveal an increase in student engagement with diversity, equity and inclusion-related experiences.

NSSE collects information each year about student perceptions regarding specific experiences and interactions that students typically engage with on campus.

The 2022 NSSE results:

  • 95% of freshmen shared CSUF demonstrates a commitment to diversity.*
  • 93% of seniors shared CSUF demonstrates a commitment to diversity.*
  • Since 2018, the percentage of students who shared they discuss issues of equity or privilege in their courses “quite a bit” or “very much” has increased.
    • In 2018, the percentage of freshmen was 57%. In 2022, the percentage of freshman was 62%.
    • In 2018, the percentage of seniors was 55%. In 2022, the percentage of seniors was 61%.
  • 95% of freshmen and 93% of seniors shared CSUF provides students with resources needed for success in a multicultural world.*

*Respondents indicated either “some,” “quite a bit” and “very much” to the applicable survey questions.
