The Cal State Fullerton College of Business and Economics welcomed Paul Short, managing partner for RSM US LLP’s Orange County office, as the incoming chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board. The board supports the dean with input and guidance on strategic priorities for the college. Short will begin his role as chair in fall 2022.
He is a leader and trusted business advisor with more than 30 years of experience with operational, accounting, reporting and internal control issues facing the consumer and industrial products industries, including SEC filings, carve-out financials and internal control over financial reporting. Short has been an active member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the past four years during which time he has worked with his professional peers to ensure that the college’s curriculum, programs and activities intersect with the latest business trends in a changing work environment. As a business alumnus of Cal State San Bernardino, Short has personal knowledge of business education in the Cal State system.
“I’m honored to chair the Cal State Fullerton College of Business and Economics Dean’s Advisory Board and grateful for the opportunity to continue collaborating with these insightful leaders,” said Short. “The board is a unique visionary leadership forum dedicated to helping make the college the premier business school in Southern California. Working with and learning from each of the advisors over the past four years has been a pleasure. I’m confident that through its visionary guidance, this board is committed to ensuring that the college’s curriculum, programs, and activities relate to the most current business trends the corporate community faces in this new era of unprecedented risk, change and opportunity.”
“Paul has been a dedicated member of the Dean’s Advisory Board and closely engaged with the college’s strategic planning process we launched last year,” said College of Business and Economics Dean Sri Sundaram. “He is fully committed to the success of the college and our students, and I look forward to working closely with him in taking the college to its next level of excellence.”
Outgoing chair, KPMG Managing Partner Mark Clemens, has led the board since 2020, and he is recognized for his dedication and commitment to the Dean’s Advisory Board and the business students. “I am grateful to Mark for his leadership,” says Sundaram. “On a personal front, I am thankful for his efforts to help me meet with the OC business community during my first year as dean of the College of Business and Economics. His support and guidance as board chair was critical for our success as a college.”
