The holiday season is a time for generosity, connection and community. And for the officers, professional staff and students who work for the CSUF Police Department, it’s also a time to give back in a meaningful way.
Each year, CSUF PD hosts its annual “Shop With a Cop” event, an effort aimed at bringing joy to Titan students and their families who may be experiencing financial hardship during the holidays. Traditionally, this heartfelt event has been funded entirely by CSUF PD personnel, along with the generous support of one dedicated community family.
This year, however, the department is inviting the broader CSUF and surrounding community to join in and help expand the impact of this special tradition.
A Season of Giving
“Shop With a Cop” pairs CSUF personnel with student families for a holiday experience they won’t forget. It’s more than just a shopping trip; it’s a chance to build relationships, show compassion and remind students that their community stands behind them.
By opening the opportunity for public donations, the department hopes to increase the number of families they’re able to support and provide a warm meal for everyone prior to the shopping experience. All funds raised will go directly toward helping CSUF students and their families enjoy a joyful holiday season and providing essentials, warm clothes and even a few fun surprises.
How to Help
Whether participants are a CSUF alum, a local business, a fellow Titan or someone who simply believes in the power of community support, a donation can make a lasting difference.
To date, CSUF PD has raised $1,085 toward its $5,000 goal. For more information, visit the “Shop With a Cop” event page.
