The Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton invites the local community to grab their sun hats and gardening gloves for one of Orange County’s most anticipated annual events, the 2025 Fall Native Plant Sale, taking place Nov. 7-9 on the CSUF campus.
This three-day, family-friendly event offers visitors the opportunity to explore and purchase an impressive collection of California native and climate-appropriate plants, all propagated and nurtured onsite by arboretum staff and volunteers. The sale will include drought-tolerant native plants, colorful perennials, herbs, vines and unique succulents, each suitable for landscaping and home gardens.
“I think it’s a really unique opportunity to buy plants that were grown right here in the arboretum,” said Amy Bulone, a horticulturist at the arboretum. “A lot of other nurseries buy their plants from somewhere else, and you don’t necessarily even know where — it could be San Diego or upstate somewhere — but these plants are already used to the Orange County climate. We grew them right here.”
All proceeds from the sale will support the arboretum’s research projects, student internships and conservation programs, helping protect and celebrate Southern California’s diverse plant life.
The plant sale will take place Nov. 7 from noon to 4 p.m., Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
