Cal State Fullerton is set to host the Titan Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Expo on April 16. Sponsored by a Orange County Department of Education K-16 grant, this expo gives a look into the world of manufacturing engineering while prioritizing diversity, equity, inclusion and innovation.
Students from several school districts within Orange County and beyond, including Brea-Olinda, Capistrano, Saddleback Valley and Tustin, will be attending. Various industry partners and colleges will also be present, including Curtiss-Wright Corp., Raise3D, Edwards Lifesciences, Fullerton College, Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College.
The agenda of enriching activities planned for the event not only showcases a wide range of educational trajectories from K-12 to college, but also encourages collaborative efforts between educators and industry professionals. Attendees will learn to enhance their technological proficiency and soft skills, preparing them for a smooth transition from education to the workforce.
“Through the Titan Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Expo 2024, we’re shaping a future where innovation meets industry, where students find their pathways to success, and where diversity and inclusion are celebrated,” said Sagil James, CSUF associate professor of mechanical engineering and lead organizer of the expo.
“This event represents a pivotal moment in bridging the gap between education and industry, forging partnerships that will drive the manufacturing sector forward. We invite everyone to join us as we showcase the transformative power of collaboration and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead in the world of advanced manufacturing,” remarked James. He continued, emphasizing, “As we convene at this year’s expo, one of our key focuses lies in advancing biomanufacturing workforce development. We are steadfast in our commitment to nurturing a diverse and skilled talent pool, essential for driving innovation and shaping the future of this transformative industry.”
