Volunteer Opportunity at Fullerton Arboretum

Share This:

Do you enjoy the outdoors, learning about plants, and meeting new people? Come volunteer at the Fullerton Arboretum and assist with the care and maintenance of our beautiful gardens!

If you’re a Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) student, this is a great way to build your resume with a service-learning project, and it may even lead to future student research projects, internships, or employment opportunities.

The Fullerton Arboretum curator, Greg Pongetti, said, “Volunteers are a huge help in the arboretum and we would love to have more student involvement.”

What Will I Be Doing?

You will work with Fullerton Arboretum horticulturists and participate in a variety of tasks to help maintain the gardens. Duties may include weeding, planting, mulching, fruit harvesting, raking pathways, pruning, watering plants and plant propagation in the nursery, and other fun activities!

How Do I Sign Up?

If you’re ready to begin your adventure as a Fullerton Arboretum volunteer, here are the steps you need to take:

  1. Make sure you’re a member of the Fullerton Arboretum OR a CSUF student.
  2. Submit a volunteer inquiry request. Once your submission is verified, you’ll be contacted to set up an appointment and discuss available opportunities.
  3. Attend a 90-minute orientation that includes a fun tour of the garden.
