Upcoming presentations by Cal State Fullerton faculty members include:

Kenneth Tom, associate professor of human communication studies, who will be among the presenters at the 2015 Symposium of the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association, May 15-16, in San Francisco. Tom will present a session on “Integrating the Tools of Yoga in Voice Therapy” and serve on the “Complementary and Integrative Alternatives: What Do We Do When People Choose Not to Pursue Medical/Surgical Intervention” panel.

In July, Ken Alan, lecturer in kinesiology, will lead a half-day trekking program, “The Hollywood Walking Workout Adventure,” as part of the IDEA World Fitness Convention in Los Angeles.

John Spiak, director of Grand Central Art Center, will be a presenter at the “LA/LA: Place and Practice Symposium,” May 2 in San Diego and May 4 in Los Angeles. The event is created in partnership with the Getty and various art institutions for “Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA,” an exploration of Latin American and Latino art taking place across Southern California from September 2017 through January 2018.

Among recent presentations:

Susan Cooper and Robert Flores from the Cal State Fullerton Irvine Campus were among the presenters at the 2015 National Association of Branch Campus Administrators conference held in April at Western Illinois University. Cooper, dean of the CSUF Irvine Campus and the NABCA’s 2013-14 president, joined other former NABCA leaders to discuss leadership and careers in the branch campus area during the McCaslin Conference LEAD-Off Workshop; and with Flores, assistant dean for students affairs at the branch campus, presented “Academic and Student Affairs: How the Dean and Assistant Dean Learned to Speak the Language of ‘the Other’.”
