Graduate Student Directs First Play of the Season

'Dancing at Lughnasa' Debuts Sept. 25

Sarah Ripper, M.F.A. student in theatre arts-directing, directs “Dancing at Lughnasa” Sept. 25- Oct. 18 at Clayes Performing Arts Center’s Hallberg Theatre.

The Tony Award-winning play, written by Brian Friel, centers around Michael Evans looking back on a summer he spent in his aunts’ cottage in Ireland when he was a boy.

 Ripper’s directing credits include “Really Really” at Cal State Fullerton. She was a runner-up in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Directing Competition.
