Following a national search, Chi-Chung Keung, who serves as the city of Fullerton’s public information officer, has been named director of news media services effective Dec. 11. Previously, Keung worked in the marketing department at Pepsi-Cola and held director-level public-affairs and marketing communications positions at a number of colleges and universities, including Biola University, Long Beach City College, and Cerritos College. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, earned an MBA at Cal State Los Angeles, and is Accredited in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America.
Keung’s media-relations unit is one of six in the University’s Strategic Communications Department. Valerie Orleans leads the editorial development team, Mishu Vu manages both the design/photography and web development/email communications units, Mike Mahi heads online and social media engagement, and Andrea Kelligrew directs the operations and project management team. The department reports to Jeffrey D. Cook, associate vice president for strategic communications, who serves as the University’s chief communications officer.
