Associated Students Inc. officials and other campus dignitaries will be on hand Wednesday, Sept. 16, for a ceremonial groundbreaking in celebration of the recently begun construction to expand the Titan Student Union.
The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Becker Amphitheatre with remarks by President Mildred García, ASI President Michael Badal and Berenecea Johnson Eanes, vice president of student affairs, among others.
Construction on the student union began in June. The renovation will add a total of 26,000 square feet and includes a three-story addition at the southeast corner of the building. Funding for the construction is through existing Titan Student Centers reserves. Facilities are open and available during construction; completion is expected by December 2016.
