Faculty Research Subject of Recent Journal Articles

Minjung Kim and HyeKyeung Seung, assistant professor and professor of human communication studies, respectively, share the results of their recent study in their co-authored paper, "A Longitudinal Study of the Acquisition of English Speech Sounds by a Minimally Verbal Child With Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Case Study," in the June issue of Communication Sciences & Disorders, journal of the Korean Academy of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Gerard Beenen, associate professor of management, author of the article, "Ready for Your Interns?" a discussion of what companies to do to maximize the benefits of internships, including a rigorous hiring process. The article was published in the May/June issue of Industrial Management. Beenen also was co-author of "Motivating Creativity: The Effects of Sequential and Simultaneous Learning and Performance Achievement Goals on Product Novelty and Usefulness" — about organizations fostering conditions that motivate employees to develop creative solutions that are both novel and useful — in the March issue/Vol. 127 of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.

Dana N. Rutledge, professor of nursing, was co-author of an article "Polysomnography With Quantitative EEG in Patients With and Without Fibromyalgia" in the April issue of the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology. The article is based on a study of the brain waves during sleep of patients with and without the pain syndrome.
