Art Symposium Showcases Student and International Artists

Three internationally recognized guest artists will be taking part in the Tuesday, May 10, InterArts Collaborative Symposium at Clayes Performing Arts Center.

There also will be presentations of 21 collaborative projects featuring the work of music and video arts students during the afternoon program in the Clayes Recital Hall (Room 110).

Guest artists include Grammy-winning pianist Gloria Cheng and Miwa Matreyek and Chi-wang Yang from collaborative performance group Cloud Art Control. The schedule is as follows:

2 – 3 p.m.: Lectures by Cloud Eye Control’s Miwa Matreyek, animator, designer and multimedia artist, and Chi-wang Yang, director of theater and performance.

3 – 4 p.m.: Gloria Cheng presents the music and documentary film, “MONTAGE: Great Film Composers and the Piano”

4 – 4:30 p.m.: InterArts Collaborative lecture: “The Empty Space” by theatre arts-acting major Siena Marilyn Ledger

4:30 – 6:15 p.m.: Screenings of student InterArts collaborative projects

6:15 – 6:45 p.m.: Reception
