Dean Gives Keynote Address, Faculty Make Presentations

Raman Unnikrishnan, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, gave a keynote address on “Evolving Accreditation Standards Around the World” at the March 20 World Summit on Accreditation in New Delhi. Representing the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Unnikrishnan presented “National Accrediting Agencies in a Globalized Engineering Environment” at the April 1 Instituto de Calidad y Acreditación de Programas de Computación, Ingeniería y Tecnología (ICACIT) Symposium in Lima.

Other recent presentations:

  • Kenneth Tom, associate professor of human communication studies, gave a session on “Adapting Yogic Breath-Work for Voice Therapy and Singing Voice Rehabilitation” at the June 1-5 Voice Foundation’s 45th Annual Symposium: Care of the Professional Voice.” The program was held in Philadelphia.
  • Kenneth Alan, lecturer in kinesiology, presented sessions titled “Dance Remix” and “Stretching Techniques for Relaxation” April 30 at the 34th annual Acro-Sports conference in Palm Springs. The conference was sponsored by the California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Teachers.
  • Maria Koleilat, assistant professor of health science, was a co-presenter of “Perceived Barriers to Physical Activity During Pregnancy Among Participants of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children in Southern California” at the April 2-6 Experimental Biology 2016 conference in San Diego.
