Saxophonist John Hallberg, lecturer in music, was a guest artist at Wuhan Conservatory of Music where he also gave a master class and lectured as part of the conservatory’s Saxophone Festival. Hallberg also lectured, led a master class and performed at Shandong University’s School of Music.

Other faculty activities:

Anthony Alvarez, assistant professor of sociology, participated in the June 28 webinar “Financial Citizenship: Initial Research Findings on Credit Dignity, and Trust.” The webinar focused on research conducted by a team lead by Yale sociologist Frederick Wherry. The team investigated the impact of Mission Asset Fund’s zero-interest social loan program on the financial lives of 58 low-income clients.  

John Spiak, director and chief curator of CSUF’s Grand Central Art Center, will be the juror for the 2017 Idaho Triennial, a statewide, juried art exhibition held every three years. The Triennial is open to all artists residing in Idaho; their artwork will be exhibited at the Boise Art Museum.
