Family Business Workshop ‘Performance – Review It or Regret It’

One of the issues that many businesses face, especially family businesses, is deciding how to evaluate and appraise employees. “Performance — Review It or Regret It” is the subject of the Wednesday, Jan. 20, Center for Family Business workshop at Cal State Fullerton.

Who:                 

Guest speaker is human resources specialist Laurie Giesenhagen. She has worked in the field since 1990, and taught staffing, compensation, HR management, training and development at Cal State Fullerton. Giesenhagen earned a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota and holds dual certification as a senior professional in human resources and a Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) senior certified professional.

Background:    

The Center for Family Business operates within Cal State Fullerton’s Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. A partnership between the university and the business community, the center offers various opportunities for family-owned businesses to learn, receive information and network. The center offers programs and workshops throughout Southern California.

Cost:                 

The program is free for first-time family business attendees interested in becoming a center member. Reservations are required and can be made online or by calling 657-278-4182 or by email cfb@fullerton.edu. Others interested in attending may call 657-278-4182. Seating is limited.

Parking:           

$7 per vehicle in the parking structure at the Fullerton Marriott.
