Meet Pimbucha Rusmevichientong

Pimbucha Rusmevichientong

Pimbucha Rusmevichientong is one of two new tenure-track faculty members in health science who joined Cal State Fullerton in the fall. She comes to Orange County after completing her master’s degree in agricultural economics and her doctorate at Cornell University and is originally from Thailand.

The assistant professor of health science is focused on research in health economics and behavioral and experimental economics. Recent studies have included food advertisements on changing eating behaviors and food stamps.

Why did you pursue the opportunity to join Cal State Fullerton?

I was very impressed by the department’s collegiality and warm welcome.


What do you most look forward to now that you’re here?

I look forward to collaborating with colleagues inside and outside the department and contributing a combination my knowledge in economics and health to research works.

What areas of continued scholarship and research are of particular interest to you?

My research area and interests are in health behaviors, nutrition and food labeling.

What are some of your outside activities, hobbies, or interests?

I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities, especially Alpine skiing. I usually sketch or paint during my free time, but I also enjoy watching movies and reading romantic novels.
