The President’s Commission on Equity and Inclusion will host its second and third in a series of Civil Dialogues this month.

“LGBTQ+ & the Bathroom Laws” is the theme of the Tuesday, Oct. 10 talk from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Pollak Library’s Rotary Club of Fullerton Room 130.

Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, assistant professor of human communication studies, will introduce the topic with the statement: “The biological sex only bathroom laws are a form of gender discrimination.” Attendees will be invited to take one of five chairs to embody their position ranging from “agree strongly” to “disagree strongly” and participate by discussing varying points of view on the topic, to build bridges across diverse viewpoints, she said. Registration is required and only 100 seats are available for the talk.

The third Civil Dialogue, “Free Speech vs. Hate Speech,” is set for Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Titan Student Union. Register here
