Late-Inning Titan Rally Not Enough to Win Super Regional

Update 6/10/18: The Titans came up one run short Sunday night on the road to Omaha.

A ninth-inning rally and a heroic home run by infielder Hank LoForte in the 10th inning wasn’t enough to hold off the Washington Huskies from punching their ticket to their first College World Series.

Washington earned the trip to Nebraska defeating the Big West Champions, 6-5, in the bottom of the 10th inning.

“That game was epic,” Titans Coach Rick Vanderhook said during the postgame press conference. “Those last innings were a heavyweight fight … We just couldn’t control what we needed to control.” Continue reading at Titan Athletics.

 

 

Cal State Fullerton is hosting its 10th Super Regional in program history and its first since 2013.  CSUF is the only team in California competing in a Super Regional.

The CSUF Alumni Association is having a tailgate party from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Parking Lot A. Tailgate tickets can be purchased in advance online.  A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.  Ticket price does not include a ticket to the game. Parking is free Sunday.  

Sunday’s game will be streamed on ESPNU. Check your local listings. 

Several local eateries, including BIGS Fullerton , will be broadcasting the games, as well.
